Ghanaian agribusiness firm Sesi-Edem Co. Ltd has announced a strategic partnership with Catalyst Green LLC, a United States-based company specialising in advanced biological agricultural solutions, in a move aimed at strengthening farming systems and improving productivity for Ghanaian farmers.

The partnership, facilitated through Sesi-Edem’s US subsidiary, Sesi-Edem LLC USA, brings together Sesi-Edem’s local agricultural expertise and Catalyst Green’s biological technologies, which are designed to improve soil health, strengthen root development, enhance nutrient availability and support healthier crop growth.

Announcing the collaboration, Sesi-Edem described agriculture as the backbone of many countries and communities, stressing that the future of farming must be driven by innovation, technology and sustainable solutions. The company said its focus remains on the Ghanaian farmer, with the partnership designed to provide access to modern agricultural technologies that improve productivity, restore soil performance and build more resilient farming systems.

Beyond improvements in agricultural output, the company noted that the partnership also seeks to create value, support skills development and contribute to employment opportunities within the agricultural sector.

Sesi-Edem credited the collaboration to a decade-long relationship with Dr Brian K. Johnson, Board Chair of the Sesi-Edem Group and its partner in the venture, whose shared vision the company said helped make the partnership possible.

The firm expressed confidence that the partnership would help build a smarter and more sustainable future for agriculture in Ghana, describing private sector collaborations of this nature as complementary to government’s broader commitment to agricultural transformation. While describing its contribution as modest, Sesi-Edem said it expects the partnership to create meaningful impact for Ghanaian farmers.

The agreement adds to a growing number of private sector partnerships aimed at modernising Ghana’s agricultural value chain through improved access to technology, inputs and technical expertise, as stakeholders continue to explore ways of strengthening the resilience and productivity of the country’s farming systems.
